They're back...

Rex loves, loves, loves little mandarin oranges. He just ate 3. His fascination began when he was visiting his Grand Nana last Christmas in CA. She always had fruit (some of it bordering on too old) in the middle of her table. She had bought a ton of little oranges..."cuties." Rex was just really getting into food at that time. He started eating them and couldn't quit. I saw "cuties" in the grocery store the other day and picked up some...he is still in love.

Seeing those little oranges made me think of Nana, Christmas, CA....ahhhh the memories. Nana passed away earlier this year. We are so fortunate that we got to see her the day before she passed. We are also really lucky that we were able to spend an awesome Christmas, 2007 with her. The pic to the left is the post-Christmas margarita party we had. Matt and I went to Ross Dress for Less and picked up some "outfits" for my parents and Nana to wear for the occassion. Note Matt and Nana's matching scarves. We all got pretty wasted. Hate to admit it, but that was the last time I drank until a few months ago...I soon found out that I was preggo with Sloane (mmmm....I think she may have enjoyed the margaritas, too???)

I just so wish that Nana had been able to meet Sloane. During Christmas 2005 (pre-Rex), Nana revealed (when we were doing Irish Whiskey shots----ummmm multiple) that she had always wanted to have another baby, but she just never got preggo again. I think Nana and Sloane would have been pals.

Basically, it goes like this: If you give Rex a "cutie," he will probably want to eat a ton, if he eats a ton it will remind him of Nana, when he thinks about Nana he will remember how cool she was, when he remembers how cool she was he will tell Sloane about her, when Sloane hears about Nana she will want to see a picture, when she asks to see a picture she will check out her mom's blog to look, after she checks out her mom's blog she will be hungry, being hungry will remind her to ask Rex to get her something to eat, and if she asks Rex to get her something to eat chances are Rex will get her a "cutie."
